Job summary

St. Vincent's University Hospital is inviting applications for the position of Senior Cardiac Physiologist in the Cardiac Physiology Department. The role involves leading cardiac diagnostic activities, supervising staff, and rotating across SVH, SMH, SCH and community diagnostics to maintain high standards of patient care.

The successful candidate will contribute to service development and training, while adhering to hospital policies and stock control within the Cardiac Department.

Qualifications

• The role requires familiarity with cardiac diagnostic procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with techniques and equipment used in cardiac diagnosis, treatment, and care.
• The majority of the workload is in the Cardiology Department.
• The Senior Cardiac Physiologist should understand all cardiac diagnostic procedures in use.
• Rotates between SVH, SMH, SCH and Community diagnostic departments.
• Supervise other Cardiac Physiologists and participate in medical procedures.
• Adhere to hospital patient policies and provide safe patient care.
• Contribute to service and policy development within the Cardiac Department.
• Provide in-service training for Cardiac Physiologists and staff.
• Contribute to training programmes for staff and external groups.
• Assist in stock control and stores management for Cardiac Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of cardiac patients.
• The major portion of the work commitment of the Senior Cardiac Physiologists is with the Cardiology Department .
• the Senior Cardiac Physiologist should have a complete understanding of all cardiac diagnostic procedure carried out within the departments.
• The senior Cardiac Physiologist should be confident to rotate between SVH, SMH . SCH and Community diagnostic departments.
• Supervise the other Cardiac Physiologists in the Department and participate in a wide range of medical procedures.
• Adhere to hospital patient policies at all times and provide a high standard of safe practice for patient care.
• Contributes as required to the development of services and policies within the Cardiac Department.
• Provide in service training of the Cardiac Physiologists other staff and students.
• Contributes as required to the development and training programmes for established staff and external groups.
• Contribute as required to the management of stock control of the stores, of all relevant items in the Cardiac Department.
