Job summary

MatchMedics is recruiting a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the HSE CAMHS service in Roscommon, Ireland. The role blends senior clinical work with multidisciplinary leadership, service development and supervision of junior medical staff within Ireland’s consultant-led public mental health system.

You will provide specialist assessment and treatment for children and adolescents, lead the CAMHS team, develop care plans, collaborate with psychology, nursing and schools, and

Qualifications

• Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
• CCT/CCST, CESR or equivalent recognised qualification
• Significant experience in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and risk-management skills
• Experience working in multidisciplinary mental health teams
• Ability to provide clinical leadership at Consultant level
• Commitment to evidence-based and family-centred care

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health conditions
• Lead and influence the multidisciplinary CAMHS team and clinical decision-making
• Develop individualised treatment and risk-management plans
• Collaborate with psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, social work and other allied health professionals
• Engage with families, primary care and schools to support care
• Manage complex, urgent and high-risk presentations and supervise junior doctors
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits and quality improvement
• Support development of the CAMHS service and evidence-based care
