Job summary

ESB is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician with a civil or structural background to support Ireland’s transmission network expansion and develop innovative engineering solutions for large capital projects.

You will produce general arrangement and construction detail drawings in 2D/3D using AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D, and collaborate across disciplines while mentoring junior staff in a hybrid Dublin-based role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a design consultancy office.
• Strong competence in BIM, Revit and AutoCAD for GA drawings of Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Drainage Layouts.
• A Level 7 qualification or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for design, drafting and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D & 3D drawings, maps and documentation to high quality in coordination with team members and stakeholders.
• Produce drawings for tender, construction issue and as-built stages.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver ESB’s Net Zero by 2040 strategy.
• Coordinate with internal and external designers and contractors across disciplines.
• Provide expertise in complex engineering drafting and design tools such as AutoCAD; mentor less experienced staff.
