Job summary

Ayesa Engineering in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Senior CAD Technician to support civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. You will produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings, develop Civil 3D models, and prepare documentation for planning, design, tender, and construction stages.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience, proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD, and a good grasp of civil engineering principles.

Position

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Senior CAD Technician, you will support the delivery of a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. Working closely with engineers and project teams, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings, models, and design documentation using Autodesk Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for civil engineering projects.
• Developing and maintaining Civil 3D models, including surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks.
• Preparing drawings for planning, detailed design, tender, and construction stages.
• Assisting engineers with the development and coordination of design solutions.
• Ensuring all drawings and models comply with company standards, client requirements, and relevant industry regulations.
• Coordinating design information with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Managing drawing revisions and maintaining document control procedures.
• Supporting project delivery by meeting agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of CAD standards, processes, and workflows.
• Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, schedules, and project documentation where required

Requirements

What You Bring:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a CAD Technician within a civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and models for civil infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of civil engineering design principles and drawing standards.
• Knowledge of flood, drainage, water, utilities, or general infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, CAD, Engineering Design, or a related discipline (HNC/HND, BTEC, or equivalent preferred).
