Job summary

Guerbet in Ireland seeks an experienced Senior Buyer/Planner to support the Supply Chain Manager in delivering cost effective procurement solutions and efficient materials supply planning. You will analyse spend, set savings goals, and develop action plans to achieve them while ensuring smooth operations and inventory control.

You will lead supplier negotiations, rollout contracts and SLAs, and collaborate with Quality, EHS and cross-functional teams to improve site efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in tactical and strategic procurement including price negotiation.
• Experience in performance-based vendor management.
• Experience in material planning and schedule forecasting.
• Inventory management and analysis (not exclusively pharmaceutical).
• Strong ERP skills with SAP, Oracle, MFG Pro and databases.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate prices and drive cost savings initiatives.
• Create and rollout supplier contracts and SLAs.
• Procurement support for Quality and EHS departments.
• Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects to conclusion.
• Manage site bulk chemical planning process and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate engineering project purchasing with Corporate Procurement.
• Coordinate ATIBC/Starry deliveries to offsite storage and weekly 3PL call-offs.
• Carry out SAP transactions as required (POs, transfers, shipments).
• Back up Supply Chain Manager and represent SC at meetings.
• Ensure compliance with site Safety Statement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer / Planner who will support the Supply Chain Manager in delivering cost effective procurement solutions as well as effective materials supply planning and inventory management on a consistent basis. This role will analyse current spend activities across the site and develop plans to generate cost saving initiatives – set cost savings goals and objectives in line with direction from the Supply Chain Manager and develop actions plans to deliver same. This role will also Review Supply Chain Department operational activities and working with Supply Chain Manager, identify and introduce changes that will improve operational efficiencies where required. The role will also act as back up to Supply Chain Manager and represent SC department at meetings as required.

THE ROLE

• Supplier Management – Price Negotiation and development of cost savings / price reduction initiatives to deliver savings.
• Generation and rollout of Supplier contracts and SLA’s
• Procurement support for Quality and EHS departments
• Lead and manage cross functional Continuous Improvements projects to conclusion and present results to Site Leadership Team
• Manage site Bulk Chemical Planning Process – supplier management and delivery schedule
• Co-ordinate engineering project purchasing and execution of delivery schedules with Corporate Procurement
• Co-ordinate ATIBC/Starry deliveries to offsite storage and weekly call-offs from 3PL to warehouse on a weekly basis
• Carry out SAP transactions as required – PO generation, inventory transfer, shipments etc.
• Act as delegate and back up support to Supply Chain Manager as required
• Ensure that EHS roles and responsibilities are complied with as per the requirements of the site Safety Statement
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time based on company needs.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Business Management Certification an advantage
• Demonstrated Procurement and Supply Chain experience at both tactical and strategic level - including price negotiation and contract generation.
• Experience in performance-based vendor management
• Experience in material planning and schedule forecasting.
• Inventory Management and Analysis of same (not exclusively pharmaceutical).
• Strong PC skills with experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MFG Pro or similar) - working with databases an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience of delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
