Summary of the Role: You will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements related to data migration are captured, validated, and business use cases are documented. You are expected to plan, implement, and manage the migration of data from the legacy systems to the new system software/applications. You will play a key role in liaising with Business and Technology team to realise the data migration requirements, while enabling best in class customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for ensuring that business requirements related to data migration are captured, validated, and business use cases are documented.
• Plan, implement, and manage the migration of data from legacy systems to the new system software/applications.
• Liaise with Business and Technology teams to realise data migration requirements and enable best in class customer experiences.
• Own the data mapping sheet and interact with Business Stakeholders and IT teams to identify, document, and finalise the data elements to be migrated.
• Develop and propose data migration best practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
• Show ability to clearly document the data migration strategy in JIRA or Confluence, present it to relevant stakeholders for review and sign off within the given timeframe.
• Engage in data clean-up activities such as identifying and correcting/removing errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in the data set, table, database, and improve quality and usability.
• Participate in pre-migration planning, define migration scope, and verify destination system data requirements.
• Involve in migration planning and design reviews, conduct formal review meetings with stakeholders, and implement migration testing strategies.
• Design migration test strategy and identify the right tool for testing, such as automated tools to compare source and destination data.
• Manage post-migration testing and verification of migrated data to the new system.
• Demonstrate ability to manage data migration process and procedures with complex data structures and tables.
• Engage with multiple stakeholders across various levels and departments in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, logical thinking with data protection acumen.
• Experience handling various complex data migration projects in a banking domain, preferably in lending space.
• Good working knowledge of database systems, design, and management.
• Experience working with large data in a variety of formats, tables, and structures.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns in the data set and structure.
• Ability to evaluate data sources and foresee obstacles during migration.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders across various verticals within the bank.
• Ability to document the data migration strategy in JIRA or Confluence and obtain sign-off from stakeholders within the timeframe.
• Methodical and logical approach to migration planning, organization, and progress monitoring.
• Proven ability to provide technical guidance and assistance to colleagues as appropriate.
