Job summary

Fitzgerald Power in Waterford, Ireland is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to join our SME team on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role covers bookkeeping, supplier and bank reconciliations, and ensuring readiness for management accounts, with hybrid working options.

You will review team work, streamline processes, and drive accuracy across client records using Karbon and other tools. A bookkeeping qualification (ATI) is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in bookkeeping/ accounts payable
• Bookkeeping qualification (ATI) preferred
• Experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or Bright
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to work in a structured and dynamic workflow environment
• Proactive and team oriented

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for monthly clients and ensure transactions are recorded correctly.
• Process invoices, payments and expenses efficiently.
• Perform supplier and bank reconciliations and maintain ledgers to accounting standards.
• Ensure records are finalised and ready for management accounts preparation.
• Review and approve bookkeeping work by the support team and monitor deadlines.
• Identify workflow improvements and opportunities for automation.
