About the Role

They are seeking a highly experienced Senior BizTalk Developer to join their team and play a key role in delivering robust, secure, and scalable integration solutions for enterprise-level applications. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that support critical services and infrastructure. The role is based in Ireland, with a relocation allowance included in the package.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development Lifecycle

  • Lead design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of BizTalk integration solutions.

Collaboration & Design

  • Work with business analysts and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to strategic system improvements.

Integration & Compliance

  • Design and implement BizTalk-based integrations in line with departmental and ISO:27001 standards.

  • Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and functional specifications.

Support & Maintenance

  • Maintain and optimise applications.

  • Provide user support, documentation, and assistance tools.

  • Execute unit and integration testing, supporting continuous integration and automated testing.

  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve incidents.

Continuous Improvement & Mentoring

  • Introduce new concepts and strategies to improve business processes.

  • Foster collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge transfer across teams.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development.

  • Proven experience working within the public sector.

  • Strong expertise in BizTalk development, including:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and documenting BizTalk integration solutions.
  • Building and maintaining BizTalk Maps, orchestrations, and Business Rules Engine (BRE).
  • Administering BizTalk system and security configurations.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting BizTalk environments across Development, UAT, and Production.
  • Deploying and migrating BizTalk applications across versions.
  • Proficiency in .NET, HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JavaScript.

  • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and stored procedures for MSSQL Server.

  • Experience with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and REST APIs.

  • Familiarity with transport protocols such as SOAP, S/MIME, HTTP/s, File, FTP/s, SFTP, POP3, and SMTP.

  • Excellent client-facing skills.

  • Strong people management and mentoring capabilities.

  • Good self-management with a focus on continuous performance.
