Job summary

Merck in Ireland seeks a Senior Manufacturing Biotech Associate for our Dunboyne single-use facility. You will join a self-directed team in Solution Prep Operations, handling Drug Substance manufacturing tasks.

The role requires 24/5 shift coverage (days/nights) and site-based work. You will mentor peers, lead local teams, and drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma while maintaining SME-level knowledge of MES, SAP, DeltaV, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Degree-level science/engineering qualification (Level 7 or higher).
• Experience in GMP regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of upstream/downstream processes and equipment.
• Experience with automated manufacturing systems (MES, SAP, DeltaV).
• Ability to mentor and coach team members and lead shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead local work teams and deliver unit goals in a matrix environment.
• Coach and mentor less experienced staff; promote teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in inspections, GO/See visits, and improvement projects.
• Perform EBR reviews, investigations, and associated documentation.
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain and deepen SME knowledge of production systems (MES, SAP, DeltaV).
