Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software/platform/SRE roles, with 4+ years on AWS.
• Design and implement production-grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Deep AWS security, networking, IAM and governance practices.
• Networking specifics: firewalls, DNS, load balancing, proxies.
• Proficient in scripting/programming (Python/Go/Shell).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with multi-account AWS architectures, landing zones or control towers.
• Familiarity with zero-trust, data encryption and KMS.
• IaC with Terraform to build and automate cloud deployments.
• Open-source contributions or active cloud engineering community involvement.

Senior AWS Cloud Engineer - Daily Rate Contract - Hybrid-Working Model - Excellent NEW Role

Our client is looking to hire a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Contractor) with hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure to help build and support cloud-native environments.

In this role, the successful candidate will work as a key contributor within a cloud platform team, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and secure delivery pipelines to: collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver well-architected solutions aligned with industry best practices.

Skills Required:

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, including 4+ years of direct experience with AWS.
• Proven experience designing production-grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and governance within AWS.
• Advanced knowledge of networking (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies, etc.)
• Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Shell).
• Experience with continuous integration/delivery pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience with multi-account cloud architecture, landing zones, or control tower setups.
• Familiarity with zero-trust architecture, data encryption, and key management systems (KMS).
• Strong proficiency with using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to build cloud infrastructure solutions and automating cloud deployments.
• Prior experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or Dynatrace, as well as AWS native tools
• Experience optimizing cost and performance across large-scale cloud environments.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in cloud engineering communities.
