Job summary

PepsiCo Little Island is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer on a permanent basis to join its automation team in Little Island, Cork. The role concentrates on process control, PLC/SCADA systems, and IT architecture support across manufacturing sites.

You will review validation protocols, support capital projects, develop URS documents, and collaborate with IT operations while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained. A strong background in GAMP and cGMP is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in process control and automation
• Validation experience per GAMP and cGMP
• Experience with major PLC/SCADA tools (Allen-Bradley, Wonderware)
• Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day automation and manufacturing support to business users throughout the sites.
• Review, approve and execute validation protocols.
• Support capital projects, when assigned.
• Development and/or review of URS for process and automation systems.
• Support IT operations and maintenance groups as escalation point for technical issues.
• Create and maintain operational as-built documentation for plant control system infrastructure.
• Ensure changes do not compromise safety, environmental, or quality standards.
• Continuously evaluate the automation environment for better efficiency and technology adoption.
• Assist in developing standard data structures to support integration of plant floor systems.
• Liaise with major equipment vendors to ensure compliance to specifications.
