Senior Automation Engineer
Permanent | Limerick | Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has opened for an Automation Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering high-quality automation solutions across multiple industries.

This company designs and builds advanced systems that drive innovation in robotics, autonomous technology, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical production. From factory floor integration to cloud-based platforms, the team covers every aspect of automation, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Limerick. The position offers excellent scope for progression, ongoing training, and the chance to work on high-impact projects using cutting-edge technologies.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be involved in the development, commissioning, and support of automation control systems. Your tasks will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams using modern automation technologies
  • Developing software for bespoke machinery and manufacturing systems
  • Engaging directly with customers to understand and deliver on technical requirements
  • Reviewing and improving current technologies and processes
  • Supporting operations with technical problem-solving
  • Preparing project documentation and managing change control
  • Maintaining a proactive, solution-focused mindset
What You’ll Need
  • A third-level degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Practical experience in automation ( Siemens, Allen Bradley, OSI PI Historian, VBA are all beneficial)
  • Networking knowledge (Cisco certification or VMware experience is a plus)
  • Understanding of robotics and safety standards is advantageous
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
  • A full driving licence
