We are currently seeking experienced Electrical Supply Authorised Persons (SAP) / Authorised Person Supervisors (APS) to join our team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified electrical professionals with strong experience in electrical distribution, high-voltage systems, safe systems of work, and operational control. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring electrical works are planned, controlled and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an Electrical SAP / APS, taking responsibility for the safe control and operation of electrical systems.
- Review and approve electrical switching programmes, isolation procedures and safe systems of work.
- Prepare, issue and manage Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and other safety documentation as required.
- Carry out electrical switching and isolation activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to electrical teams and contractors.
- Monitor site activities to ensure safe working practices are consistently maintained.
- Review risk assessments, method statements and electrical documentation.
- Support the investigation and resolution of electrical operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records relating to switching, isolation, permits and electrical systems.
- Liaise with clients, project teams, engineers and contractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Participate in emergency response and out-of-hours operational requirements where applicable.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working as an Electrical SAP / APS / Authorised Person.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution and HV/LV systems.
- Experience with electrical switching, isolation and permit-to-work systems.
- A strong understanding of electrical safety rules and safe systems of work.
- Relevant electrical qualifications and technical certification.
- Experience working within utilities, power distribution, construction, data centres, industrial or similar environments.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- A professional approach with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices where necessary.
- Experience working on HV electrical systems.
- Experience within the Irish utilities, infrastructure or construction sectors.
- Previous experience in a client-facing SAP/APS role.
- Knowledge of relevant Irish and European electrical standards.
- HV switching authorisation or equivalent certification.
