Job summary

Fitzgerald Power in Waterford, Ireland, seeks a Senior Associate to lead client assignments, supervise junior team members, and contribute to strategic goals. This client-facing role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 24 years' experience in a practice environment (Big 4, Top 10 or mid-tier preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with accounting software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage client assignments, including planning, execution, and completion stages.
• Perform reviews of work completed by junior team members and provide feedback and assistance.
• Prepare and/or review financial statements, audit files, tax computations, and advisory reports.
• Prepare and/or review monthly management accounts and liaise with clients.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards (FRS 102, Irish Company Law, Irish Tax law, etc.).
• Collaborate with managers and partners on technical matters and business development initiatives.
• Assist in training and mentoring of junior staff.
• Participate in internal projects aimed at improving processes and efficiency.
