Job summary

A Dublin-based pharmaceutical organization is seeking a qualified software engineer/data scientist to join its analytics team. You will develop and deploy AI/ML solutions in collaboration with software engineers, ensuring production-grade delivery in a SAFe Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has 4-5 years in software engineering or ML, strong Python and SQL skills, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Spark/Databricks, and generative AI tools including LLMs and RAG.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4-5 years in Software Engineering, Data Science or ML Engineering.
• Experience with advanced statistical techniques and machine learning for structured and unstructured data.
• Hands-on with generative AI solutions including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering and evaluation.
• Proficiency in modern AI/ML tools and deploying predictive models to production.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; cloud experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work in technical teams in the development, deployment and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics.
• Translate complex business processes into production level code.
• Work alongside software engineers to translate algorithms into viable products meeting business requirements.
• Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain AI/ML and generative AI solutions, including model validation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics.
• Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes.
• Perform data verification and scenario testing of developed solutions ensuring business requirements are met.
• Explore emerging and alternate technologies to support digital solution advancement.
• Work with IS teams/resolver groups.
• Share and discuss findings with team members practicing SAFe Agile delivery model.
• Ensure AI/ML/Digital solution development complies with GxP and other regulatory standards, fostering a strong Quality culture.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 - 5 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Science, or ML Engineering
• Experience with advanced statistical/analytical techniques and machine learning algorithms for structured and unstructured data.
• Experience developing, evaluating, and deploying generative AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model evaluation.
• Current knowledge of modern AI/ML technologies, algorithms, and frameworks, with experience building and operationalizing predictive, machine learning, and generative AI models.
• High proficiency in programming languages, with emphasis on SQL and Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools such as Spark and Databricks.
