Job summary

Cisco Galway is hiring a senior software engineer to own platform and embedded Android/Linux development. You will design, build, and optimize Android environments running our core collaboration software on Cisco devices.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in platform, embedded, or systems-level development.
• Proficiency in C++ and Java; Python experience.
• Experience with Linux and container technology (LXC).
• Android development background; familiarity with AOSP, HAL, or runtime environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software in C++, Java, Python, and Rust with emphasis on Android platform and systems-level development.
• Integrate software from meeting platform partners into our stack, focusing on Android components.
• Develop high-performance Android environments on embedded Linux hosts with containerized runtimes.
• Extend AOSP framework, system services, and HAL for our devices.
• Build robust IPC for interaction between Android and Linux applications.
• Ensure stable, secure, low-latency networking between Linux host and Android to support cloud syncing.
