Job summary

Nexify Infosystems in Dublin is seeking a Senior Android Payments Developer to lead the development of card-acceptance applications on POS devices and drive a legacy transformation programme.

You will design robust Android software for terminals, integrate with hardware, coordinate payment certification with major card schemes, and help migrate legacy code to modern architectures while maintaining security and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Android development experience (Java/Kotlin).
• Experience with POS device SDKs and hardware integration.
• Knowledge of EMV, contactless, NFC processing.
• Experience with payment scheme certification processes.
• Familiarity with PCI (PCI PTS) and secure key management.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD for embedded apps.
• Proficient debugging on physical devices and log analysis.
• Ability to prepare technical artefacts for certification.
• Experience in regulated/financial fintech environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Android apps for POS terminals with Java/Kotlin.
• Integrate with POS hardware and SDKs.
• Implement payment flows: authorisation to settlement.
• Coordinate payment certification with card schemes and acquirers.
• Migrate legacy payment codebases to modern architectures.
• Ensure security and compliance with PCI and EMV requirements.
• Improve performance and add telemetry for support teams.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for terminal images and apps.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor team and collaborate with QA and product teams.
