Job summary

Almac Group is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist (Grade I) to join our Analytical Sciences team in Athlone, Ireland. The role focuses on developing and validating analytical methods for active pharmaceutical ingredients, drug products and reference standards, interpreting data and delivering high-quality results.

You will mentor junior scientists, lead projects and collaborate with clients to ensure timely, regulation-compliant delivery within a GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline with laboratory experience.
• Experience in analytical method development, validation or troubleshooting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods using HPLC/UPLC/GC.
• Interpret data, identify trends and solve technical challenges.
• Plan and manage project activities to meet timelines and deliverables.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical documentation.
• Support client interactions, audits and visits.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
• Maintain GMP compliance and company procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement discussions.
