Job summary

Almac Group, a leader in advancing human health, is seeking a Senior Analytical Chemist to join our Analytical Sciences team in Athlone, Ireland. You will develop and validate analytical methods for APIs, drug products and reference standards, interpret data, and mentor junior scientists while ensuring GMP compliance.

You will lead project activities, collaborate with clients, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, regulated environment with excellent development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline with laboratory experience.
• Eligibility to work in UK/IE with no restrictions.
• Experience in GMP/GLP regulated environments.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and work in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate analytical methods (HPLC, UPLC, GC).
• Interpret data, identify trends and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Plan and manage projects to meet timelines and deliverables.
• Prepare high-quality reports and technical documentation.
• Support client interactions, audits and visits; mentor juniors.
• Ensure GMP compliance and drive continuous improvement.
