Job summary

Stelfox is assisting a Dublin-based client on a Senior AI Software Engineer contract. The role focuses on building production-ready AI applications in a regulated, enterprise environment with hybrid onsite work in Dublin.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Python development experience and hands-on work with agentic AI frameworks, RAG implementations, vector databases, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python development skills.
• Hands-on experience building AI applications using LangGraph or similar agentic AI frameworks.
• Experience with LLM-powered architectures, context management, and RAG approaches.

• Proficient in RESTful API design and integration.

6-Month Rolling Contract

Stelfox is partnering with a leading Dublin-based organisation seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering next-generation AI solutions in a regulated, enterprise-scale environment.

This is a hands-on contract opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong Python expertise and a passion for building production-ready AI applications. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling intelligent systems that leverage agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and modern orchestration frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable AI-powered applications using Python
• Develop agentic workflows using LangGraph or similar orchestration frameworks
• Implement context management strategies for complex, multi-step AI processes
• Build and optimise RAG solutions across structured and unstructured data sources
• Integrate AI services with enterprise platforms through APIs and event-driven architectures
• Design resilient workflows incorporating asynchronous processing, retries, and human-in-the-loop interactions
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver production-grade AI solutions
• Drive best practices around scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability

Required Experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python development skills
• Hands-on experience building AI applications using LangGraph or similar agentic AI frameworks
• Strong understanding of LLM-powered architectures, context management, and MCP-style protocols
• Experience designing and implementing RAG solutions, embeddings, and retrieval strategies
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts including state management, idempotency, and fault tolerance
• Strong software design and architecture skills
• Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience with vector databases and vector search technologies
• Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases
