Job summary

Johnson Controls International (JCI) is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to join our AI Engineering team. This hands-on, full-stack hybrid role focuses on building the front-end and back-end layers that empower AI teams to deliver enterprise solutions.

You will work with AI engineers, data scientists and product teams to move AI use cases from PoC to secure, scalable products. You will build UIs in Blazor/React, APIs in .NET and Python, and integrate with AI, RAG and enterprise data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience building modern web apps with C#, Razor/Blazor, CSS and JavaScript (front end) and C#/.NET back-end services.
• Experience with REST APIs and integrating front ends with distributed back ends.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled applications (LLM, RAG, AI services).
• Experience with Azure-hosted apps and automated delivery using Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production-grade web applications exposing AI capabilities.
• Develop component-based front ends using C#, Razor/Blazor, CSS and JavaScript.
• Build secure back-end services and REST APIs using C# and .NET, with Python as needed.
• Design integration patterns across front ends, APIs, AI services, data stores and enterprise platforms.
• Implement authentication, authorization, input validation and secure management of secrets.
• Improve performance and reliability through profiling, caching and async processing.
• Lead features from design through testing, deployment and support.
• Create reusable components and patterns for AI teams to reuse.
