Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum Advisory Ireland is seeking an AI Senior Consultant to deliver AI-enabled consulting across the healthcare ecosystem. You will collaborate with business and technology teams, leverage AI tools, and advise on practical AI applications to improve processes and outcomes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify issues, establish objectives, develop recommendations, and implement solutions for our clients.
• Leverage AI enabled tools to support and accelerate consulting delivery activities while improving efficiency and outcomes.
• Advise clients on practical applications of AI to enhance business processes, digital products, and operational performance.
• Provide work stream/project oversight, manage and track issue resolution, and make key decisions for the project with the project sponsor.
• Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
• Drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional environment.
• Define, establish, and deploy PMO frameworks, standards, and best practices, leveraging advanced project management tools and artifacts.
• Monitor, manage, and document project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive project risk and issue management plans, including mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate status updates and review of programs to client leadership and/or project sponsor.
• Provide clear communications and share knowledge at all levels of the organisation.
• Conduct research studies collecting, analysing, trending data and presenting recommendations to management.
• Provide coaching and mentoring of project team to develop talent.

The AI Senior Consultant is a consulting expert within the Optum Advisory (OA) Ireland Consulting team. This is a rapidly growing business that serves clients across the health care ecosystem. What you will do:

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify issues, establish objectives, develop recommendations, and implement solutions for our clients
• Leverage AI enabled tools to support and accelerate consulting delivery activities while improving efficiency and outcomes
• Advise clients on practical applications of AI to enhance business processes, digital products, and operational performance
• Provide work stream/project oversight, manage and track issue resolution, and make key decisions for the project with the project sponsor
• Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
• Drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional environment
• Define, establish, and deploy Project Management Office (PMO) frameworks, standards, and best practices, leveraging advanced project management tools and artifacts (e.g., Charter/Scope, Integrated Project Plans, Issue logs, Requirements Matrices, Lessons Learned, and portfolio tracking)
• Monitor, manage, and document project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, proactively identifying emerging issues and driving appropriate actions to maintain project alignment and momentum
• Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive project risk and issue management plans, including mitigation and escalation strategies to minimise impact and ensure successful delivery
• Facilitate status updates and review of programs to client leadership and/or project sponsor
• Provide clear communications (oral and written) and share knowledge at all levels of the organisation
• Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analysing, trending, and presenting data and recommendations to management
• Provide coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing talent within the organisation

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in Project Management, Product Management, or related roles within healthcare environments
• Proven experience driving process improvement initiatives and delivering measurable business outcomes
• Proven experience developing project deliverables and managing complex workstreams within client-facing environments
• Proven experience working within Agile teams and applying Agile methodologies to project delivery
• Demonstrated working knowledge of CA Agile, Rally, Jira, or similar project management and work-tracking tools
• Proven experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, including Generative AI, automation technologies, or advanced analytics platforms, to enhance productivity, decision-making, and deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

• Agile, Scrum, or related professional certification
• Proven experience working with nationally recognized consulting firms or healthcare payer and provider organizations
• Proven experience across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Proven experience within digital health or consumer digital products and services
• Proven experience working within large, matrixed organizations
• Proven ability to work effectively within highly technical and fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills
