Optum Ireland Analytics seeks an Associate Director Clinical Consultants to lead cutting-edge analytic projects at the intersection of clinical medicine, data science and technology. You will collaborate with Medical Directors and Data Scientists to architect, deploy and oversee analytics solutions while ensuring clinical relevance and governance.

Qualifications

• Master's in Public Health or analytics; or equivalent advanced education.
• Fully qualified physician with Irish Medical Council registration.
• Expert knowledge of clinical medicine and guidelines.
• Experience in analytics, data science, or technology deployment.
• Experience in fast-paced Agile environments with multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Associate Director Clinical Consultants working in Optum Ireland Analytics are developing cutting edge analytical products from one of the world's richest healthcare datasets. You will be at the intersection of clinical medicine, data science and technology.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

What you will do:

• Work with autonomy and in partnership with Medical Directors and Data Scientists to find solutions to complex problems. This means leveraging clinical, technical and analytical expertise across the enterprise to architect, deploy and oversee clinical and population health analytics and technology solutions
• Contribute to a variety of projects including proofs of concept, new product / component development, and reengineering initiatives that have the capability to transform the industry
• Lead and contribute to the validation of data science- and AI-enabled solutions, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure that outputs are accurate, reliable and aligned with clinical and business requirements. Have confidence working with large and complex datasets, solid proficiency in Excel, and the ability to apply statistical methods to evaluate model performance, identify trends or anomalies, interpret findings and communicate clear, actionable recommendations to technical and non-technical team members and partners
• Be familiar with the state-of-the-art around big data analytics and associated technologies and techniques
• Think independently and advocate for the clinical application of data science methods and applications and how they can benefit healthcare operations
• Think critically outside your immediate sphere of responsibility
• Provide clinical oversight and governance based on evidence-based medicine, clinical guidelines, and best practices while adhering to any and all local, state, federal, or global legal and regulatory requirements
• Have solid communication and presentation skills, including strengths in translating highly complex concepts, results, models and technologies in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

• Master's degree in Public Health or a related discipline, or equivalent advanced education in analytics, healthcare, or research methodologies
• Fully qualified physician with proven practicing experience and an active, unrestricted registration with the Irish Medical Council
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of clinical medicine, clinical guidelines, and the implementation of evidence-based practices within clinical workflows
• Proven experience in analytics, data science, technology development, or technology implementation within business or academic environments
• Proven experience working within fast-paced, Agile environments, with the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple concurrent projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of statistical concepts and methodologies
• Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system
