Job summary

Amicus Search & Recruitment is partnering with a leading accountancy firm in Kildare to appoint a Qualified Senior Accountant. The role involves preparing financial statements, tax computations, and managing client work from information receipt to completion.

You will supervise trainees, liaise with clients, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining budgets and deadlines. Hybrid working is available and compensation reflects experience and capability.

Qualifications

• Must hold ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Three to four years’ post-qualification experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements for audit-exempt companies and sole traders.
• Good knowledge of Irish corporation tax and income tax compliance.
• Experience managing assignments and dealing directly with owner-managed business clients.
• Ability to supervise and support junior staff.
• Strong IT skills and proficiency in Excel; experience with accounting and practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review annual financial statements for audit-exempt companies, sole traders and owner-managed businesses.
• Prepare and review corporation tax and income tax computations and returns.
• Manage client assignments from receipt of information through to completion.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and progress work.
• Identify accounting, taxation and commercial issues arising during assignments.
• Assist Senior Managers with management of client portfolios and filing deadlines.
• Supervise and support trainee and part-qualified accountants.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and within budgets and deadlines.
• Contribute to improving and standardising the firm’s accounting and tax processes.
• Assist with audit assignments where required.
