Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland seeks an experienced Security Architect to drive security architecture across enterprise and cloud transformations within a major financial services client.

You will shape secure, scalable solutions, assess risks and align with regulatory needs, collaborating with infrastructure, cloud engineers and governance forums to embed security by design.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on security architecture.
• Proven track record designing security solutions for financial services.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture and secure design.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure security architecture.
• Knowledge of IAM, Zero Trust, network security and application security.
• Experience in security assessments, threat modelling and risk reviews.
• Familiarity with NIST and ISO 27001 and regulatory standards.
• Understanding security requirements across APIs, microservices and integrations.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to join a major financial services organisation delivering a significant cybersecurity and technology transformation programme. This is an opportunity to play a key role in designing secure, scalable and resilient technology solutions across complex enterprise and cloud environments.

You will be responsible for defining security architecture, assessing technology risks and ensuring that new and existing systems align with enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements. Working closely with infrastructure teams, cloud engineers, solution architects, cybersecurity specialists and senior stakeholders, you will help strengthen security capabilities across a highly regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end security architecture and design across enterprise technology and cloud transformation initiatives.
• Design secure and resilient architectures across applications, infrastructure, networks and cloud platforms.
• Define security architecture standards, patterns and controls aligned with enterprise security strategy.
• Lead security architecture reviews and risk assessments for new technology solutions.
• Design Identity and Access Management (IAM), privileged access and Zero Trust security architectures.
• Provide architectural guidance on cloud security across AWS, Azure and hybrid environments.
• Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, data protection and operational resilience requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to embed security controls into solution designs.
• Produce security architecture documentation and present recommendations to technical governance forums.
• Identify and manage security risks, architectural vulnerabilities and technical dependencies.
• Support security modernisation, cloud adoption and enterprise cybersecurity transformation programmes.

Experience & Skills Required

• 7–10+ years' experience in cybersecurity, including significant experience in Security Architecture.
• Proven experience designing security solutions within banking, insurance or financial services.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture and secure solution design.
• Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, Zero Trust, network security and application security.
• Experience conducting security architecture assessments, threat modelling and risk reviews.
• Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001 and relevant regulatory standards.
• Understanding of security requirements across APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations.
• Experience working within complex hybrid cloud and legacy technology environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and technical communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Knowledge of DORA and financial services operational resilience requirements.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust architecture or enterprise IAM transformation.
• Exposure to security technologies such as SIEM, PAM, CASB, SASE or cloud-native security services.
• Experience supporting large-scale cloud security transformation programmes.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM or TOGAF.
