Job summary

Responsibilities

• Process securities and derivatives transactions across the trade lifecycle
• Support clearance and settlement and investigate settlement issues
• Review transaction information and provide operational support for securities/derivatives
• Identify processing errors, breaks and exceptions and coordinate resolution
• Escalate transaction and settlement issues to the appropriate teams
• Analyse operational reports and identify trends and improvement areas
• Support production and review of management and operational reporting
• Contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
• Support control activities and ensure processes align with procedures

Securities & Derivatives Operations Analyst

Location: Dublin City Centre

Contract: Daily Rate Contract

Our client is seeking a Securities & Derivatives Operations Analyst to join a busy financial services operations environment.

The role will support the day-to-day processing of securities and derivatives transactions, with responsibility for ensuring trades are processed accurately, settlement issues are investigated and operational risks are identified and escalated appropriately.

This would suit someone with previous experience within securities, derivatives, settlements, trade processing or wider banking operations who is looking to further develop their experience within a large financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process securities and derivatives transactions across the trade lifecycle
• Support the clearance and settlement of transactions and investigate settlement issues
• Review transaction information and provide operational support relating to securities and derivative products
• Identify processing errors, breaks and exceptions and coordinate their resolution
• Escalate transaction and settlement issues to the appropriate teams where required
• Analyse operational reports and identify trends, issues and areas for improvement
• Support the production and review of management and operational reporting
• Contribute to process improvements designed to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk
• Support control activities and ensure processes are completed in line with internal procedures
• Assist with the operational implementation of new products and services
• Work closely with internal teams to resolve transaction-processing issues
• Ensure activities are completed in accordance with audit, control and regulatory requirements

Experience Required

• Previous experience within banking, financial services, securities operations, derivatives operations, settlements or trade processing
• Understanding of the securities transaction lifecycle, including clearance and settlement
• Exposure to derivatives and/or Treasury products
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to investigate transaction or settlement issues and drive them through to resolution
• Experience working within a controlled and regulated financial services environment
• Ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Good Excel skills; experience with macros would be beneficial
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple internal teams
• Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
