Job summary

Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II for CloudWatch Collectors in Dublin. You will design and implement scalable telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go within an agile team, contribute to OpenTelemetry, and expand services across AWS Regions.

You will root-cause issues, ship new features, and mentor junior engineers while leveraging GenAI tools to boost productivity in a high-scale observability platform environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Strong programming skills in two or more: Rust, Go, Java, C++, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain highly available, massively scaled systems.
• Develop telemetry collection agents and contribute to upstream projects like OpenTelemetry.
• Root-cause analysis and fixes to prevent issues from recurring.
• Mentor junior engineers and grow the team’s technical capabilities.
