Sales Development Representative (SDR)

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a critical role in driving awareness and adoption of Cohesity’s solutions. This foundational role is suited for individuals passionate about beginning a career in sales. The role is focused on identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the development of a strong and sustainable sales pipeline.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE
  • Respond promptly to inbound leads and proactively reach out to outbound prospects through calls, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to identify needs and generate interest, working closely with the Marketing team to follow through on inbound leads.
  • Build and refine targeted outbound prospecting lists, research target accounts, identify key decision-makers, and work daily with tools such as HG Insights, Marketo, 6sense, ZoomInfo, Outreach, and LinkedIn for proactive targeting.
  • Create and execute multi-channel outreach sequences (phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.) to boost response rates, drive prospect engagement, and increase potential opportunity conversion.
  • Conduct discovery calls to assess prospective needs, business fit, readiness, and priority; introduce Cohesity solutions; and articulate the value proposition.
  • Qualify leads using predefined criteria, focusing on high-potential prospects, and schedule meetings with Account Executives to advance opportunities, driving pipeline growth in partnership with field teams.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives to hand off qualified opportunities and support progression through the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate records of lead activity, meeting outcomes, and key insights to support forecasting and pipeline visibility.
  • Gain and continuously expand knowledge of Cohesity’s solutions, industry trends, and competitive offerings to tailor outreach and improve messaging based on prospect feedback and market insights.
  • Participate in role plays with peers or managers to refine skills and improve effectiveness.

  • Experience with researching companies, cold calling, emailing, and navigating organizational hierarchies.
