Job summary

Recruitment by Aphex is seeking an experienced OHS professional to lead safety management and drive ISO45001 attainment on site in Ireland. You will conduct risk assessments, safety reviews, and C&B, while delivering training to employees and managing emergency and security programs.

The role requires at least a Level 8 in OHS and 5 years in GMP environments, with strong communication and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 8 in OHS discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in GMP production environment, preferably in medical device or pharma industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the site safety management with a view to attaining ISO45001.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments, JSAs (Job Safety Analysis) and safety reviews.
  • Develop and maintain Housekeeping and 6S program requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver OHS training programs to employees.
  • Drive safety culture through employee engagement and communication (site induction, toolbox talks, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain emergency response and security programs including fire safety, site security and business continuity planning.
  • Liaise with contractors for safe working practices, RAMs, method statements, insurance certs.
  • Liaise with consultants for specialist requirements: ATEX, chemicals, occupational noise, industrial hygiene etc.
  • Ensure that inspection records are maintained and preserved for all activities and plant equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS laws, standards, corporate policies and insurance requirements.
  • Provide OHS guidance for change management processes, including review and approval of equipment and machinery modifications and process changes.
  • Participate in pre-start up safety reviews, internal and external auditing, site safety inspections and walkdowns.
  • Achieve a series of effective EHS KPI's for the site.
  • Support Company quality programs and initiatives.
