Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an experienced RTR leader to drive end-to-end record-to-report processes across global hubs. You will work closely with Partners and senior finance leaders, delivering high-quality month-end closes and robust financial controls.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and 8+ years of experience in financial accounting or RTR advisory, with strong IFRS/US GAAP knowledge and ERP systems exposure.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 8+ years post‑qualification experience.
  • Experience leading large global teams and complex deliverables at senior level.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS/US GAAP and multinational reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday) and automation tools is desirable.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of end-to-end RTR process with strong month-end close and controls.
  • Lead accounting governance for intercompany, revenue, leases, inventory and FX.
  • Review balance sheet and P&L analytics for multi‑jurisdictional accuracy.
  • Oversee global RTR delivery across onshore and international hubs.
  • Act as senior client contact, advising finance leadership.
  • Drive process improvements, standardisation and transformation of RTR.
  • Lead major RTR programmes including SSC transitions.
  • Support proposals, pricing, scope management and revenue growth.

Job Description

This is a high-profile position. It involves working closely with Partners and other senior personnel within Grant Thornton Ireland and our international network, but also with key finance people in both publicly listed
companies and multinational environments.

The Role – Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of the end‑to‑end RTR process, ensuring a high‑quality month‑end close, strong financial controls, and consistent global delivery.
  • Lead technical accounting governance, setting and maintaining standards for complex areas including intercompany, revenue, leases, inventory, and FX, with final sign‑off accountability.
  • Safeguard the integrity of financial reporting through senior review of balance sheet and P&L analytics, as well as multi‑jurisdictional trial balances supported by robust evidence.
  • Oversee global RTR compliance and delivery quality across both onshore and international delivery hubs.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and serving as a trusted advisor to finance leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement, documentation, standardisation, and transformation across all RTR processes.
  • Lead the delivery of major RTR programmes, including SSC transitions and other transformation initiatives.
  • Provide commercial leadership, supporting proposals, pricing, scope management, revenue growth and identification of wider firm opportunities.

Skills and Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 8+ years’ post‑qualification experience in financial accounting, controllership, or RTR advisory roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large global teams and managing complex deliverables at Senior Manager/Associate Director level.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS/US GAAP and multinational reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday) and automation/BlackLine is desirable.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capability.
