Job summary

FMC Agro Ireland Limited seeks a diligent RTR Accountant to manage journal entries, accruals and month-end closings for multiple business units in Cork. You will ensure accuracy, compliance with US GAAP and SOX, and partner with shared services to streamline reporting.

The role requires a finance degree and a relevant professional qualification; SAP experience and strong Excel skills are essential for timely financial deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) preferred.
• Experience in Record to Report (R2R) or shared service centre is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process journal entries, accruals and adjustments per standards.
• Perform reconciliations and maintain general ledgers for business units.
• Execute month-end and quarter-end closings timely and accurately.
• Prepare and submit financial results to Corporate Accounting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX and local regulations.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and treasury activities as required.
• Support process improvements for efficiency and standardisation.

You’ll play a vital role in maintaining general ledgers, processing journal entries, and executing month-end and quarter-end closing activities while partnering with business units to achieve financial objectives.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global team, contribute to process improvements, and enhance financial reporting efficiency.What You’ll Do:Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with financial standards.Complete reconciliations and general ledger maintenance for business units.Execute month-end and quarter-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Prepare and submit financial results to Corporate Accounting.Maintain compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.Conduct bank account reconciliations and select treasury activities.Work closely with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and drive best practices.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and standardization.Your qualification & attributes:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.Professional qualification (CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) preferred.Minimum 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.Prior experience in Record to Report (R2R) or accounting within a shared service centre is a plus.Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Proficiency in Excel and Word.FMC is an equal opportunity employer.
