Job summary

PACE Logistics in Waterford City is seeking a delivery driver responsible for the safe and timely return of goods to customers and designated locations, ensuring compliance with road traffic, health and safety, and company requirements. You will perform vehicle checks, loading and unloading, and maintain accurate delivery records.

The role requires a Full Category C license, Driver CPC, Tachograph Card, and previous rigid truck driving experience.

Qualifications

• Full Category C license required.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification/card required.
• Valid Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Previous rigid truck driving experience.
• Positive “can do” attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Manual Handling training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Transporting all products / goods and ensure you meet delivery deadlines.
• Oversee the safe loading and unloading of goods.
• Carefully maneuver your vehicle into the correct position.
• Inspect your vehicle for any mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report any accidents, violations, or defects in your vehicle to the Depot Manager.
• Document distance travelled and keep receipts.
• Comply with all relevant rules and regulations including size/weight, parking, and rest periods.
• Advise on any persons not conforming to H&S requirements including PPE.
• Complete and adhere to all training as directed.
• Ensure full conformance with all Policies and Procedures in the Employee Handbook.

About the Role

This role involves the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers and designated locations, ensuring compliance with road traffic, health and safety, and company requirements. The role includes vehicle checks, loading and unloading, maintaining accurate delivery records, and providing excellent customer service while supporting efficient depot and distribution operations.

Contract Type:Permanent (6-month probationary period).

Location:PACE Logistics, Unit 201 Waterford Industrial Park, Cork Road, Waterford City.

Key Duties of the Role

• Transporting all products / goods and ensure you meet delivery deadlines.
• Oversee the safe loading and unloading of goods.
• Carefully maneuver your vehicle into the correct position.
• Inspect your vehicle for any mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report any accidents, violations, or defects in your vehicle to the Depot Manager.
• Document distance travelled and keep receipts.
• Comply with all relevant rules and regulations. This may include the size and weight of the merchandise, parking, and permitted rest period.
• Advising immediately on any persons within the vicinity of your working area who are not conforming to the H & S requirements inclusive of PPE and ensuring that there are no unaccompanied personnel within the warehouse and your immediate work area.
• Completion and adherence to all training as directed.
• Ensuring full conformance with all Policies and Procedures as outlined within the Employee Handbook.

Essential Requirements

• Full Category C license.

• Previous rigid truck driving experience
