Job summary

Children’s Health Ireland invites applications for a Resuscitation Training Officer to coordinate the Resuscitation Service across CHI sites. You will plan, implement and evaluate Basic and Advanced Life Support training for all relevant personnel.

A core duty is supervising and training multidisciplinary teams in resuscitation, responding to deteriorating patients, and auditing procedures to promote patient safety and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Be registered on the Children’s Division and/or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Have at least 5 years post registration Children’s Nursing experience in an acute setting, 3 of which must be in the specialty area of Resuscitation, PICU, ED, or related area.
• Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
• Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
• Successful completion of Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the Resuscitation Service within CHI sites.
• Plan, organise, implement and evaluate Basic and Advanced Life Support training for appropriate personnel.
• Supervise and train the multidisciplinary team in resuscitation and in identifying and responding to the clinically deteriorating patient.
• Provide expert advice on resuscitation training, education and practice.
• Supervise, review and audit resuscitation procedures.
