Job summary

Children’s Health Ireland seeks an experienced Nursing Education Lead to manage the clinical educational needs within the department and drive the professional growth of staff nurses and nursing students.

You will coordinate orientation, continuous professional development, and in-service training, supervise new staff with CNMs/CNMs 3, and promote best practice while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be on the live NMBI register in the Children’s Division or be entitled to be registered.
• Five years post-registered experience with a minimum of two years in children’s nursing.
• Or five years' experience in children's nursing with General Division registration.
• Current practice in children’s nursing.

Responsibilities

• Manage the clinical educational needs within the department.
• Lead, coordinate and facilitate development of staff nurses and nursing students.
• Oversee orientation, CPD, in-service training and supervision of new staff.
• Support progress tracking and feedback for staff and students.
• Promote high quality standards of care and clinical expertise.
• Ensure confidentiality and maintain documentation, standards and guidelines.
• Support competency development for the new digital hospital and lead quality improvement projects.
