Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital in Dublin is seeking an experienced Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist to establish and lead a new Respiratory Specialist Nursing Service within our acute private hospital.

You will work with Consultant Respiratory Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient-centred pathways for COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis and other respiratory conditions, ensuring excellence in care and clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Registered General Nurse with NMBI.
• Minimum 5 years post-registration clinical experience.
• At least 2 years in respiratory nursing or relevant specialty.
• Level 8 Nursing qualification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in respiratory care.
• Experience in service development, project management or quality improvement.
• Completion of or willingness to undertake CNS education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and establish the new Respiratory Specialist Nursing Service.

Are you an experienced nurse with expertise in respiratory nursing looking for a unique opportunity to shape and lead a new specialist service?
We are seeking an ambitious, innovative and highly motivated Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist to establish and lead a new Respiratory Specialist Nursing Service within our acute private hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with advanced respiratory expertise to work with our existing experts to develop a patient-centred CNS service that enhances clinical outcomes, supports excellence in respiratory care, and contributes to the strategic growth of respiratory services across the hospital.
Working collaboratively with Consultant Respiratory Physicians, Nursing Leadership, Allied Health Professionals and multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing pathways of care for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease and other respiratory conditions.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate:

• Registration as a Registered General Nurse on the General Division of the Register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• A minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience.
• At least 2 years recent experience in respiratory nursing or a relevant respiratory clinical specialty.
• A Level 8 qualification in Nursing.
• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to respiratory care.
• Experience in service development, project management or quality improvement methodologies.
• Completion of or willingness to undertake education relevant to Clinical Nurse Specialist practice.

Desirable Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare.
• Nurse Prescribing qualification or willingness to pursue same.
• Experience in development and provision of comprehensive patient & family education programmes related to respiratory illness patient optimisation
