Job summary

A luxury leisure resort in Ireland is seeking a Resort Gardener to manage the maintenance of estate gardens and landscape areas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum QQI Level 6 Horticultural qualification and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include leading a team, implementing landscape projects, and ensuring high maintenance standards. Qualifications

  • Have a recognised Horticultural Qualification to a minimum QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate or higher and at least 3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Spraying Certificates
  • Have an excellent plant knowledge, knowing optimum growing conditions and pruning where necessary.
  • Will have the ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced environment
  • Will be flexible in their working hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the care & maintenance of all Estate Gardens and Landscape areas.
  • Ensure continuous maintenance and development of the gardens to the highest standards.
  • Establish and implement grounds and landscape developments.
  • Design, cost, source and implement new projects and planting plans.
  • Ensure the walled garden is presented to its original Victorian design.
  • Educate, guide and lead a team of gardeners.
  • Assist in Golf Course operational duties including maintenance works when necessary.

Here's how you'll bring the K Club's trailblazing vision to life:

  • You would manage the care & maintenance of all Estate Gardens, Greenhouse, Walled Garden, Straffan House, Resort & Golf Course Landscape areas
  • To ensure continuous maintenance and development of the gardens to the highest standards, with particular attention given to high-impact areas such as the entrance, avenue, clubhouses and hotel.
  • To establish and implement grounds and landscape developments.
  • To design, cost, source and implement new projects and planting plans.
  • To ensure the walled garden is presented as far as possible to its original Victorian design.
  • To continue to improve theK Club's maintenance goals, policies and procedures and ensure adherence of all relevant regulations, guidelines and standards for Estate Landscape upkeep.
  • To educate, guide and lead a team of gardeners to ensure all landscape operational duties are carried out to industry standards at all times.
  • To assist in Golf Course operational duties including maintenance works and weekend work, where necessary.
