Job summary

MCMA, an Irish-owned provider of social care staffing, seeks a dedicated Special Care Worker to support young people in a Special Care Youth Residential setting in Limerick. You will develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, promote rights, assist with education and appointments, and help with daily living tasks.

This role offers professional training, regular supervision, and opportunities to specialise in child care legislation while building meaningful relationships and documenting

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field.
• Youth and Community Work qualification (BA (Hons)).
• BA (Hons) Youth & Community Development.
• BA (Hons) Psychology.
• Addiction Studies (Level 7).
• BA (Hons) Counselling & Addiction Studies.
• Disability Diploma (Primary Care).
• Degree in Social Science (minimum Level 7).

Responsibilities

• Support holistic well-being and implement personalised Care and Placement Plans.
• Promote rights and assist with school, appointments, play and daily activities.
• Liaise with external agencies and maintain meticulous records.
• Collaborate with a team to deliver care in a residential setting.
• Develop specialist knowledge in child care legislation and best practices.
