Job summary

SOS Kilkenny is seeking Social Care Worker & Care Assistant (Residential) for our Kilkenny services. Roles available on a permanent basis, full-time or part-time, with shifts including evenings, overnights and weekends.

Salary scales are linked to the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales, with range from €34,536 to €51,486 per year. Benefits include Pension, annual leave, sick pay, training, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• CORU registration as a Social Care Worker (essential).
• QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care or a related discipline (or equivalent leading to CORU registration).
• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare (or working towards completion)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support in line with individual needs, goals and preferences.
• Act as a key worker, supporting the development, implementation and review of individual support plans.
• Promote independence, life skills and informed decision-making, respecting each person’s rights and choices.
• Support individuals with daily living, personal development and social opportunities.
• Engage individuals in community life, encouraging participation, new experiences and positive risk-taking.
