Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Data Trainer) to shape how advanced AI models reason and problem-solve. This fully remote, hourly contract role fits 10-40 hours per week and emphasizes producing reasoning traces and workflows that train models step-by-step.

You will document decisions, generate training data, and review AI-generated reasoning to improve LLM behavior, with autonomy and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Professionally experienced in ML, software engineering, or closely related tech disciplines.
• Able to break down complex processes into clear, structured, step-by-step explanations.
• Strong critical thinker who can audit AI-generated reasoning with precision.
• Comfortable working independently and delivering high-quality outputs.
• Holds or is pursuing a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Produce precise, structured logical workflows that demonstrate expert reasoning for sophisticated technical challenges.
• Document step-by-step decision-making and problem-solving strategies in a clear, organized format.
• Generate high-quality training data illustrating how to use tools, APIs, and reasoning frameworks.
• Review AI-generated reasoning steps to identify gaps, errors, and areas for improvement.
• Contribute to datasets that improve how LLMs handle real-world ML tasks.
