Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a seasoned Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with enterprise customers, designing AI/ML use cases and delivering scalable solutions on Cloudera. You will partner with strategic customers to advance prototypes toward production, shaping enterprise AI architecture and codifying patterns into reusable playbooks.

Role demands 7+ years building production systems and 2–4 years in ML/GenAI. You’ll engage executives, mentor teams, and operate autonomously in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade systems.
• 2-4 years experience building ML systems or GenAI/agentic applications.
• Experience with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Deep understanding of LLMOps/MLOps practices including evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Experience designing scalable AI solution architectures aligned to enterprise standards (security, governance, compliance).
• Ability to engage directly with customers, technical and executive audiences, translating needs into actionable strategy.
• High agency with the ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-moving customer environments.
• A collaborative mindset and passion for enabling others through mentorship, internal enablement, or reusable tooling.
• Bsc/Msc/PhD in related field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Embed with customers to design technical use cases and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Build & prototype AI apps on Cloudera to demonstrate enterprise capabilities.
• Shape enterprise AI architecture and advise on roadmaps and deployment.
• Codify patterns into repeatable reference architectures and starter kits.
• Mentor teams and contribute to internal enablement and tooling.
• Channel feedback to Product teams to improve the AI platform.
