Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair services across Ireland and Northern Ireland. You will join an experienced team delivering start-up activities, pre-commissioning and handover for projects in the power sector.

The role requires an electrician with HV experience, substation knowledge and relay programming skills, with travel as required.

Qualifications

Electrician with proven HV power systems experience and substation exposure.
Relay programming knowledge relevant to HV networks.
Experience with 38/110/220kV equipment and power grids.
Strong background in power sector service and maintenance activities.
Ability to deliver technical reports and fault analysis; maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare and coordinate pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up activities leading to project completion.
Develop and ensure adherence to a detailed commissioning schedule through handover.
Prepare/update a comprehensive commissioning manual and reporting structure.
Coordinate with third party providers; develop test procedures and documentation.
Liaise with government agencies for approvals and client sign-off.
Develop quality, environment and safety commissioning plans.
