Job summary

The Irish College of GPs seeks a Chief Examiner to share leadership of MICGP examinations with the Deputy Executive Director for Assessment. You will oversee clinical and quality assurance aspects of exam design, development and delivery in Ireland and Malaysia, ensuring fairness, validity and alignment with standards.

In partnership with the Examinations and Assessment Standing Committee, you will monitor performance, drive improvements, manage question banks, training, and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Active general practitioner in Ireland with MICGP qualification.
• Registered with Irish Medical Council on the Specialist Division for General Practice.
• Enrolled in the Irish College of GPs Professional Competence Scheme.
• Minimum 7 years of full-time postgraduate medical experience in general practice in Ireland or equivalent.
• Concurrent part-time clinical appointment equivalent to four sessions per week.
• Significant experience in medical education, examinations and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical and quality assurance for MICGP exams design, development and delivery.
• Set and maintain examination standards with input from statisticians and team.
• Oversee development and maintenance of MICGP question banks.
• Approve exam questions and clinical cases; ratify results with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and SOPs across assessments.
• Lead examiner workshops and candidate webinars; manage training of leads.
