Job summary

AA Euro Healthcare is seeking compassionate Relief Healthcare Assistants to support nursing teams in a community hospital setting in County Kerry, Ireland. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care under supervision, ensuring patients’ dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in healthcare or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in hospital, community, residential or nursing home settings.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, professional and patient-centred approach to care.
• Flexibility to work day or night shifts.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and Garda vetting and compliance checks.
• Willingness to complete mandatory and service-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care, hygiene, dressing, toileting and continence care while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Support patient mobility, transfers and repositioning with safe handling procedures.
• Assist with meals, hydration and nutritional needs as directed by nursing staff.
• Monitor and report changes in patients' physical, emotional or behavioural wellbeing.
• Carry out delegated clinical observations and documentation within training and competency levels.
• Promote patient independence, comfort and wellbeing through compassionate, person-centred care.
• Provide support to patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care.
• Maintain infection prevention, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Assist with maintaining patient areas, equipment and supplies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care.

Essential Requirements

• Full QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Nursing Studies, Community Care, Health Service Skills or a comparable healthcare qualification.


• Relevant experience in a hospital, community, residential or nursing home setting

• A compassionate, professional and patient-centred approach to care.


• Flexibility to work day or night shifts depending on service needs.
