About the Client

Our client is a well-established leader in credit management and specialized financial services operating in Ireland. As part of a respected international financial group with an extensive European footprint, our client oversees performing, rescheduled, and non-performing asset portfolios, maintaining high standards of regulatory governance, operational integrity, and sustainable client outcomes.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance & Governance Specialist to play a key role in safeguarding the regulatory and operational integrity of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive compliance oversight across internal business operations and outsourced arrangements. This role is central to maintaining, reviewing, and enhancing a robust compliance framework that encompasses outsourcing oversight, anti-money laundering (AML/CFT), regulatory testing, complaints handling, Fitness & Probity/MCC standards, and consumer protection codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Outsourcing & Third-Party Oversight: Provide structured compliance oversight and conduct audits of operational teams and third-party servicers (first line of defence) to ensure systems, controls, and loan documentation adhere to regulatory standards.
  • AML/CFT Guidance & Review: Examine customer due diligence (CDD) documentation and deliver practical advice to operational teams on AML/CFT matters.
  • Compliance Advisory & Issue Resolution: Serve as a subject matter resource for internal business teams, addressing operational compliance queries and handling formal complaints in close coordination with the Head of Compliance.
  • Framework Enhancement & Monitoring: Collaborate with the wider compliance team to refine the compliance framework and run a proactive, risk-based compliance monitoring programme.
  • Policy Audits & Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Conduct periodic reviews of internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with statutory changes, industry codes, and Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) guidance.
  • Governance Reporting & Records Management: Prepare board-level presentations, document compliance assurance findings, and maintain organized regulatory files and archives.
Candidate Profile
  • Qualifications: Professional Certificate or Diploma in Compliance (LCI).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience within banking or regulated financial services. Transactional banking or real estate finance experience involving facility and security documentation is an advantage.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Strong background across Irish financial services regulations, including Central Bank of Ireland guidelines, AML/CFT, CCMA, CPC, SME Regulations, and Fitness & Probity / MCC.
  • Technical & Organizational Skills: High attention to detail, comfort navigating digital workflow systems, and the ability to manage high-volume tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Communication & Professionalism: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
What Our Client Offers
  • Remuneration: Competitive salary with eligibility for an annual discretionary, performance-related bonus.
  • Flexibility: Modern hybrid working arrangements.
  • Financial Protection: Company-matched pension scheme and life assurance cover.
  • Annual Leave: Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 23 days (increasing to 25 days).
  • Culture: A collaborative, supportive team environment backed by regular social events.
