Job summary

PE Global is seeking a Regional Design Manager to lead design activities across European data center projects, travelling across the region to ensure safe, efficient delivery and stakeholder alignment.

The role involves mentoring design teams, establishing regional governance, and driving strategy from concept to commissioning while coordinating with project directors and other functions to meet programme, cost and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in Design Management within data centres or large-scale construction projects.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams across multiple projects.
• Knowledge of CSA, mechanical and electrical systems, design coordination and project delivery.
• Knowledge of European regulations and digital delivery/BIM methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and provide technical oversight to design managers and multidisciplinary teams across projects.
• Establish and maintain regional design governance, standards and reporting frameworks.
• Drive design strategy from concept through construction and commissioning, ensuring alignment with programme and costs.
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders as primary escalation point for design risks.
• Oversee technical submissions, RFIs, change management and design coordination to keep projects on schedule.
• Lead design assurance, value engineering and standardisation initiatives across projects.
• Monitor regional design performance through KPI tracking and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with Project Directors, Construction and Commercial teams to ensure successful delivery and handover.

PE Global are delighted to be working with our client who are Europe's leading data centre delivery partner, we are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a Regional Design Manager to join their expanding team across European projects.

They specialise in providing turnkey data centre solutions, providing services from design, through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services as well as commissioning.

They have now grown to become the leading and most trusted company in our sector and is the only dedicated Data Centre delivery partner in Europe.

They are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking aRegional Design Managerto join our team.

Working across various disciplines and project teams, the Regional Design Manager will ensure that all design activities are delivered safely, efficiently, while supporting the continued growth and successful delivery of the regional portfolio. This role will involve travel across the different projects within a particular region.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and provide technical oversight to Design Managers and multidisciplinary design teams across multiple projects within the region.
• Establish and maintain regional design governance, standards, procedures and reporting frameworks to ensure consistency and quality of delivery.
• Drive design strategy and delivery from concept through construction and commissioning, ensuring alignment with programme, cost, quality and operational objectives.
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders, acting as the primary escalation point for design, engineering and technical risks.
• Oversee technical submissions, RFIs, change management, IFC releases and design coordination activities to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Lead design assurance, value engineering and standardisation initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
• Monitor regional design performance through risk management, KPI tracking and executive reporting, providing clear updates to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Project Directors, Construction, Commercial, Procurement and Commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery, sustainability targets and final handover requirements are achieved.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Architecture, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in Design Management, Engineering Management, or Technical Project Delivery within data centres, mission critical, or large-scale construction projects.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong understanding of CSA, Mechanical and Electrical systems, design coordination and project delivery.
• Experience managing design consultants, technical submissions, RFIs, change control and design assurance processes.
• Knowledge of European regulations, industry standards and digital delivery/BIM methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
