Job summary

Veolia Energy Services Ireland Limited currently seeks a skilled Refrigeration Technician in Blanchardstown. This permanent, shift-based role operates on a 24/7 cycle, delivering maintenance, service and technical support for HVAC and refrigeration systems in line with contractual standards.

The ideal candidate has a refrigeration qualification, trade status, at least 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience, and a solid understanding of HVAC engineering, controls and energy performance.

Qualifications

• Relevant refrigeration qualification (e.g., F-Gas Category 1 or equivalent).
• Trade qualified with strong HVAC/building services knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in HVAC or mechanical services.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality service, maintenance and technical support for HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions and replacements.
• Recommend parts, upgrades and refurbishment to improve energy performance.
• Ensure assets operate in line with contract specifications.
• Maintain and commission full range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

It's why we're looking for someone who's just as committed as we are, to push for genuine change and bring our ambition of Ecological Transformation to life.We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment, and contribute to our inclusive culture.Refrigeration TechnicianLocation: BlanchardstownDuration: PermanentHours: Shift RoleThis is a shift role, working on a 24/7 4 shift cycleDay-to-Day of the Role:Provide high-quality service, maintenance, and technical support for HVAC systems, including AHUs, chillers, heat pumps, dehumidification systems, ventilation plant, and associated mechanical equipment, in line with industry standards and safety regulations.Diagnose mechanical and control-system faults, carrying out corrective actions, component replacements, and adjustments to restore system performance and efficiency.Recommend suitable replacement parts, upgrade options, and refurbishment solutions to support long-term asset reliability and energy performance.Responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of the full range of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.Ensure that all customer facilities and services are made available within the requirements of the contract specification, and ensure assets are operating effectively.Skills & Qualifications Required for the role;Relevant refrigeration qualification (e.g., F-Gas Category 1 or equivalent)Trade QualifiedStrong technical background in commercial or industrial cooling systemsMinimum 3 years' hands-on experience working with HVAC or mechanical building services systems in a service, maintenance, or commissioning capacity (essential).Solid understanding of HVAC engineering, including air handling, ventilation, dehumidification, heat transfer, and system controls.Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults.Competent in the use of diagnostic instruments for airflow, pressure, moisture content, temperature, and system performance measurement.Experience working on Industrial refrigeration systems such as stand alone Fridge / Freezers, Incubators, Stability Chambers, and blast freezersWorking in ATEX areas (desirable)Previous experience of API pharmaceutical Industry (desirable)Previous experience working on Ammonia refrigeration systems (desirable)Please note:If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national , you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
