We’re Hiring: Recruitment Executive – Cork or Athlone

Flexible Location: Join our HR team from either our Cork or Athlone offices!

Due to our recent takeover by Ethos Care and the exciting expansion of our nursing homes, Sonas Nursing Homes is looking for a Recruitment Executive to join our HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in attracting and onboarding top talent across our expanding network of care facilities.

About the Role

As a Recruitment Executive, you will lead and deliver a comprehensive recruitment service across all Nursing Homes and associated services. You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle— from advertising and sourcing to interviewing, selection, onboarding, and reporting — ensuring compliance with Irish employment legislation and regulatory guidelines. You will also contribute to strategic initiatives to build talent pipelines, enhance our employer brand, and meet workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Ensure recruitment processes comply with Irish employment law, WRC, and HIQA regulations.
  • Advertise roles across job boards, social media, and other platforms to attract diverse talent.
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates, delivering a seamless candidate experience.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with organisational needs.
  • Build employer brand awareness and implement initiatives to enhance the candidate pipeline.
  • Collaborate with nursing home managers to identify staffing requirements.
  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires, including overseas nurses (NMBI registration and immigration documentation).
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in compliance with GDPR and produce recruitment reports and metrics.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on recruitment and selection processes.
  • Build relationships with academic institutions and nursing programmes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field. Postgraduate HR/recruitment qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a recruitment role, ideally in-house.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish recruitment legislation and practices.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and fluent in English.
