The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a receptionist to join our outstanding team!

Scope of Role

The hotel receptionist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests during their stay at the hotel.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure 4-star standards of service are achieved at all times.
  • Perform in a professional and courteous manner with all customers (internal & external).
  • Offer in-depth knowledge of accommodation services and hotel amenities.
  • Adhere to all hygiene regulations.
  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and Employment.
  • Report to duty on time, in the correct uniform, wearing a name badge and Ballygarry pin.
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
  • Check guests in and out efficiently.
  • Provide information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing accurate information.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality.
  • Manage reservations and cancellations accurately.
  • Process payments and maintain guest accounts.
  • Keep the front desk area clean and organized.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Take restaurant reservations.
  • Ensure menus are typed and printed on time.
  • Upsell rooms and facilities.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Stay updated on hotel policies, procedures, and promotions.
  • Follow safety and security protocols.
  • Handle cash and lodgements responsibly.
  • Create a positive first impression and ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability. Flexibility is essential, as additional tasks may be assigned by management.
