Job summary

Barna Recycling is seeking RCV Drivers to join our waste and recycling collection services. You will collect waste and recycling on domestic and commercial routes, with shift times from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. and potential Saturdays and public holidays. A 3‑month fixed term contract is offered with a rate of €18 per hour.

Applicants must hold a valid Class C driving licence, C truck licence, and have good communication and customer service skills. Accommodation may be available under certain terms.

• C Truck Licence is essential.
• Safe Pass Card is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out required vehicle condition checks daily or weekly per policy.
• Meet daily/weekly collection and delivery targets.
• Maintain written and electronic records (time sheets, worksheets, service dockets).
• Communicate courteously with customers and relay information to improve service or route optimisation.
• Assist in training new personnel as required.
• Uphold a valid Class C Driving Licence and report any points to Transport Manager.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

RCV Driver Responsibilities

• To carry out required vehicle condition checks as required on daily or weekly basis in accordance with company policy
• You will carry out assigned collection and delivery targets on a daily/weekly basis
• You must ensure written and electronic records are maintained e.g. time sheets, worksheets, service dockets etc
• Your role is to communicate courteously with customers and relay information that could potentially improve customer service or route optimisation to relevant supervisor
• You will assist in training new personnel, as required
• You must uphold a valid Class "C" Driving Licence and any accumulated points are communicated to the Transport Manager
• To carry out any other duties as required by management in line with meeting Barna Waste company objectives

Skills and Experience required

• Flexibility with regard to working varying shifts in line with business needs

Terms

• Hours: shift start times vary between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. and finish times very between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
• Required to work Saturdays and Public holidays on occasion
• 3 month fixed term contract initially
• €18 per hour
