Job summary

EY Ireland's R&D tax team invites a Senior Manager to help clients identify, document, and support R&D tax positions. You will be a key member of the leadership team within a fast-growing national practice, driving business development and client engagement.

The role requires strong communication, project management and team leadership, with opportunities to mentor staff, travel to client sites, and contribute to strategic growth in a professional services setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
• Five or more years’ experience in R&D tax consulting required.
• Experience communicating with Irish Revenue and R&D tax credit audits.
• Experience supervising tax professionals and delegating work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Sitting within the wider Quantitative Services group of EY, the Research & Development (R&D) tax team is a highly successfulteam of tax and engineering specialists who work on variety of high-profile clients. The team continues togrow from strength to strength working with cutting edge companies currently performing R&D in Ireland and also looking to invest in future R&D in Ireland.

The Opportunity:

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join EY’s fast growing and highly successful R&D Tax practice. The team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be part of a growing and dynamic National practice. This position provides a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to widen their technical and business skill set while working within a professional services environment and proactively contributing to building a business.

Responsibilities:

The R&D Manager / Senior Manager in EY’s business will be charged with helping clients identify, document, and support tax positions related to their R&D tax credits. The R&D Manager / Senior Manager will be a critical member of the R&D leadership team and will actively participate in the marketing and business development of the R&D practice, with an emphasis on growing the business. In addition, the R&D Manager / Senior Manager will develop and drive process improvement and team-building initiatives, maintain client relationships, and act as a source of guidance to other team members.

Person:

• Master’s / PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related fields.
• Five or more years’ experience in R&D tax consulting required including working with clients and providing guidance on R&D tax credits.
• Prior experience communicating with Irish Revenue and experience of Irish Revenue R&D tax credit audits.
• Prior experience supervising tax consulting professionals and delegating work assignments as needed.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills, especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detail.
• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment.
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to promote a positive team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of junior members on the team.
• Ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements.
